You should make a blog! π
Social media is crumbling, we all want more control over our content, and blogging is a great way to get that back! Some people think it's a thing of the past, but itβs having a comeback!
There are a many places to get started, but these are some that are cheap and easy to use.
- Bearblog.dev is a minimal, no-fuss blogging platform. It has a very generous free tier, a discovery feed, and can be as simple or as complicated as you want.
- Pika is a simple, easy place to get your writing published. The free tier limits you to 50 posts, but it's a great place to get started, or to host an ephemeral project.
- Micro.blog is a combination of a social network and a blogging platform, making it easy to be social. You can use it for free to try out, and sync external posts to their timeline, but is otherwise $5 a month.
- Weblog.lol is a service that comes with omg.lol, and can be customised extensively.
- Montaigne, Alto and Public are a few tools by the same developer that integrate with Apple services to turn your notes and messages into a website.
- Lmno.lol is a simple platform that generates the website from a single markdown file.
- Mataroa is a completely free platform of a similar nature to Bear, but lacks customisation you might see elsewhere.
- Scribbles is a platform for humans. It limits you to 25 posts, but is again good for maybe sharing small projects.
This is just a list of the easiest platforms to get started, and there are many more tools, services & hosts you can use to run a website with many more features, many of which can be found here, here, and here.
